The Hardayal Municipal Library, Possangipur, which needed new furniture, repairing of broken windows and electrical wires and sockets finally heaved a sigh of relief as new desks, chairs and almirahs arrived on Sunday.
The members of the library, mostly students, who are either preparing for exams like SSC, UPSC, CA etc. or pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate courses happily volunteered to help move the bulky old broken tables out of the library and arrange the desks and chairs.
However, the students hope that the much needed repairing of broken window frames and panes, tap in the washroom and a few fans will be done without any delay so that they can focus on their studies.
The annual membership fees has been increased from Rs. 200 to Rs. 500 and those who join for the first time have to pay a security of Rs. 200 extra which is refundable.
Dr. Poonam Parashar Jha, Secretary of Hardayal Municipal Public Library visited the Possangipur branch in the afternoon today. She interacted with the library members (students) and assured them that all pending repair and maintenance work will be carried out as soon as possible.
Shri Narendra Kumar Chawla also visited the library and assured that the pending maintenance work would be done without any delay.
